The Office for Migration and Integration of the Canton of Aargau implements cantonal integration programs (CIP) on behalf of the federal government. These programs enable associations and aid organisations to apply for funding for integration and migration projects such as German courses or community cafés.
Initial situation
The Office for Migration and Integration of the Canton of Aargau was faced with the challenge of digitising the complex application process for cantonal integration programs. The previous processing was carried out exclusively via e-mail and PDF documents, which led to scattered, confusing and cumbersome administration.
Associations and aid organisations that wanted to apply for funding for integration projects had to go through a lengthy and complex process that was inefficient both for applicants and for the authorities. The administration urgently needed a digital, structured solution to improve the transparency and efficiency of the entire funding process.
Solution
Originally designed as a temporary solution, the project developed into a full-fledged, long-term no-code platform. Within just one month, was a complete digital application platform built up, the entire trial covers everything from application to administrative management. The solution is based on the tool Xano, which as a central backend serves for all data while Weweb as user-friendly frontend functions. About Make were extensive automations implemented, which range from automatic contract generation to personalised email notifications.
The platform enables applicants to fill out complex multi-level forms online, while all downstream processes run automatically in the background. It is particularly noteworthy that despite the short development time of one month, one continuous professional user interface with intuitive design was created. The no-code approach not only made it possible to maintain the extremely short implementation time, but also to demonstrate that no-code solutions are not only suitable for interim solutions, but also full-fledged, long term platforms.
